Pinello di Gherardi, Giovanni Battista (c. 1544–1587)

Italian composer. After an appointment at Vicenza Cathedral he went to Innsbruck in the 1570s as musician to the archduke, to the Imperial Chapel in Prague soon afterwards, and to the Saxon court at Dresden in 1580 in succession to Antonio Scandello, but was dismissed because of differences with other musicians, and returned to Prague.

Works

motets, German Magnificats and other church music; madrigals and canzone napoletane; part songs.
