Pinkham, Daniel (1923– )

US composer, organist, and conductor. He studied with Walter Piston at Harvard and with Nadia Boulanger in Paris. He was music director of King's Chapel, Boston, from 1958.

Opera

the chamber opera The Garden of Artemis (an arrangement of The Beggar's Opera, 1956).

Orchestral

four symphonies, two violin concertos, concerto piccolo (1989).

Church music

Wedding and Christmas Cantatas, Requiem and St Mark Passion (1965), Daniel in the Lion's Den (1972), The Passion of Judas (1976), A Curse, a Lament and a Vision for chorus and piano (1984), Getting to Heaven for soprano and chorus (1987).
