Pixérécourt, René-Charles Guilbert de (1773–1844)| French dramatist. He wrote well over 100 plays, about half of them melodramas, including Victor ou l'Enfant de la forêt 1798 and Coelina ou L'Enfant du mystère 1801. |
| His melodramas were hugely successful in his day, and had a significant influence on later French drama as well as on the development of melodrama in the 19th-century English theatre. |
