Pleasant Grove

Town in Jefferson County, central Alabama, USA, 14 km/ 9 mi west of downtown Birmingham; population (1990) 8,400. It is principally a residential suburb of Birmingham.

Pleasant Grove

Town in Utah County, northern-central Utah, USA, on Battle Creek, 16 km/10 mi northwest of Provo; population (1990) 13,500. It is a distribution centre for fruit and livestock, with canning and flour milling industries. Silver and lead mines are exploited nearby. Battle Creek was also the original name of the settlement, its river being the site of an early confrontation between settlers and American Indians.
