lead(II) nitrate

One of only two common water-soluble compounds of lead (the other is lead ethanoate or acetate). When heated, it decrepitates (see decrepitation) and decomposes readily into oxygen, brown nitrogen(IV) oxide gas, and the red-yellow solid lead(II) oxide.
