Podolsk

Industrial city in the Moscow oblast (region) of the Russian Federation, 40 km/25 mi south of Moscow; population (1996 est) 200,000. Its factories produce heavy machinery, electrical equipment, and cement. The city's industrial development dates from the late 19th century.
