Poleshchuk, Alexander Fedorovich (1953- )

Russian cosmonaut. He completed a 179-day residency on the Russian space station Mir in January-March 1993, during which time he performed two space walks totalling nearly ten hours. Poleshchuk was a test engineer for the Energiya Rocket and Space Complex from 1977, and was selected as a cosmonaut in 1989.
