Pollard, (Frederick Douglas) ‘Fritz’ (1894–1986)

US football player. The second black American to be named consensus All-America, his running led Brown University to the 1916 Rose Bowl. In the 1920s he played and coached in the National Football League. He was born in Chicago, Illinois.
