Pollux

Brightest star in the constellation Gemini, the Twins, and the 17th-brightest star in the night sky. Pollux is a yellow star with a true luminosity 45 times that of the Sun. It is 36 light years away from the Sun.

The first-magnitude Pollux and the second-magnitude Castor (Alpha Geminorum) mark the heads of the twins. It is thought that the two stars may have changed their relative brightness since Bayer named them, as Alpha is usually assigned to the brightest star in a constellation.
