Pop, Iggy

    0.04 sec.

Pop, Iggy (1947- )

US rock singer and songwriter. Initially known as Iggy Stooge, he was lead singer with a seminal garage band called the Stooges (1967-74), whose self-destructive proto-punk performances became legendary. His solo career began with The Idiot (1977) and Lust for Life (1977), composed and produced by David Bowie, who also contributed to Blah, Blah, Blah (1986).

Pop released a string of albums in the 1990s, starting with Brick By Brick (1990), his most mainstream effort thus far, followed by American Caesar (1993), Naughty Little Doggy (1996), and Avenue B (1999). His subsequent albums were Beat 'Em Up (2001) and Skull Ring (2003).
