Poradowski, Stefan Boleslaw (1902–1967)

Polish composer. He studied at the Conservatory and University of Poznań. In 1930 he became a professor at the Conservatory; he was also active as a music critic.

Vocal

cantatas Triumph, The Song of Spring (1926), The Horse of Swiatowid (1931); songs, part-songs.

Instrumental

eight symphonies (1928–67), sinfonietta on folk themes, Lyrical Overture, and other orchestral works; Antique Suite for strings; double bass concerto (1929), Concerto antico for viola d'amore and string orchestra (1925); three string quartets and Metamorphoses for string quartet, three string trios, duets for two violins; Prelude and Polish Dance for piano;
