Port Neches

Industrial town in Jefferson County, southeastern Texas, USA, on the Neches River (the Sabine-Neches Waterway), adjacent to Port Arthur; population (1990) 13,000. It is a major oil refining and distribution centre, producing oil, chemicals, and petrochemical products. Incorporated in 1927, the town expanded during World War II.
