Port Washington

Town in Nassau County, southeastern New York State, USA, on Long Island's North Shore, overlooking Manhasset Bay, 10 km/6 mi northwest of Mineola; population (1990 est) 15,400. It is a residential suburb and yachting and boatbuilding centre, with publishing and other light industries.

Port Washington

Port and seat of Ozaukee County, eastern Wisconsin, USA, on Lake Michigan, 40 km/25 mi north of Milwaukee; population (1990) 9,400. It is a commercial and sport fishing port situated in a dairy and mixed farming area. The town has major fish processing facilities, and also produces canned vegetables, beer, diesel engines, tractors, concrete mixers, prefabricated houses, furniture, and clothing.
