Porthmadog

Town and coastal resort in Gwynedd, northwest Wales; population (2001) 4,900. Together with the outlying villages of Tremadoc, Borthygest, and Morfa Bychan, it forms a residential and holiday district. It has facilities for sailing. Slate used to be exported from here.
