Portree

Town on the island of Skye, in Highland unitary authority, Scotland, situated on the east coast opposite the island of Raasay; population (2001) 2,200. It specializes in the manufacture of woollens, and has an expanding tourist industry. Portree was the administrative centre of the former Skye and Lochalsh District.
