Poston, Elizabeth (1905–1987)

English composer. She was a student at the Royal College of Music in London and studied piano with Harold Samuel. In 1925 she published seven songs and her prize work, a violin and piano sonata, was broadcast in 1927. From 1940 to 1945 she was director of music in the foreign service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
