Powis Castle

Medieval castle in Welshpool, Powys, Wales, owned by the National Trust. The late 13th-century walls and bastions remain, but the castle was adapted in Elizabethan times and again in the latter half of the 17th century. It became the home of Robert Clive, created Earl of Powis, and contains many of his relics. The house contains the Clive Museum; the garden has late 17th-century terraces.

The 4th Earl remodelled the interior, and made further modifications to the castle before giving it to the National Trust in 1952.
