Prégardien, Christoph (1956– )

German tenor. He studied in Frankfurt, and sang there and elsewhere in Germany, as Tamino, Fenton, and Don Ottavio. He gave many concerts with early music specialists such as Leonhardt, Koopman, Norrington, and Brueggen; he was involved with the ‘Towards Bach and Haydn’ concert series on the South Bank, London (1989). He gave his debut recital at the Wigmore Hall, in 1993. His recordings include Bach's St John Passion and St Matthew Passion under Leonhardt, Buxtehude Cantatas with Koopman, and Bach's Lutheran Masses conducted by Herreweghe.
