Prague

Town in Lincoln County, central Oklahoma, USA, 27 km/17 mi northeast of Shawnee; population (1990 est) 2,300. It is a market and processing centre for locally grown cotton, oats, and wheat, and has some manufacturing. Prague was settled by Czechs in the 19th century; a significant portion of its population is now American Indian. The Olympic medal-winning athlete Jim Thorpe was born nearby.
