Prati, Alessio (1750–1788)

Italian composer. He was a pupil of Piccinni at the Loreto Conservatory in Naples. In 1779 he went to Paris 1779, and then to St Petersburg (1781), and Warsaw (1782). Travelling by way of Vienna (1783), he returned to Ferrara in 1784.

c. 12 operas, for example L'École de la jeunesse (1779), Ifigenia in Aulide (1784) Olimpia (1786), Demofoonte (1786).

Other works

masses and other church music, arias and misc. other vocal pieces; symphonies and sinfonia concertante; concertos; violin sonatas.
