Preindl, Joseph (1756–1823)| Austrian church musician and composer. He was a pupil of Albrechtsberger. In 1793 he was appointed Kapellmeister at St Peter's, Vienna; he held the same post at St Stephen's from 1809. He published treatises on singing and on composition. |
Works at least 13 masses, two Requiems, Offertories, motets, and other church music; keyboard music. |
