Pribram, Karl (1919–1973)

Austrian-born neuropsychologist. In 1948 He turned from the private practice of brain surgery to research after working with the psychologist Karl Lashley at the Yerkes Laboratories in Orange Park, Florida At Yale (to 1958) and at Stanford University (1958–73) he did valuable research on cerebral function.

Pribram was born in Vienna, Austria. His family moved to the USA in 1925, and he studied medicine at the University of Chicago.
