Pridham, Edwin S (1881–1963)

US electrical engineer. With the audio engineer Peter Jensen he cofounded the Commercial Wireless and Development Co. in 1911 and codeveloped the first dynamic horn loudspeaker. They named their speaker ‘Magnavox’ and then their company became Magnavox. Pridham was chief engineer and remained with Magnavox throughout his career. He was born in Downers Grove, Illinois.
