Primavera, Giovanni Leonardo (c. 1540–1585)

Italian composer. He was maestro di cappella to the Spanish governor of Milan in 1573. Palestrina used Primaverus' madrigal ‘Nasce la gioia mia’ as a cantus firmus for a mass, also called by that name. Most of his works were published in Venice, between 1565 and 1584.
