Prince, Hal

Prince, Hal (1928- )

US director of musicals. He directed, among others, Cabaret (1968) and Follies (1971) on Broadway in New York, and Evita (1978) and Sweeney Todd (1980) in London's West End.

He directed several of Stephen Sondheim's productions including West Side Story, Company, Follies, and Sweeney Todd, and Andrew Llody Webber's Evita and The Phantom of the Opera.
