Princess Ida

Operetta by Arthur Sullivan (libretto by W S Gilbert, a parody of Tennyson's Princess), produced in London at the Savoy Theatre, on 5 January 1884. The story concerns Prince Hiarion's marriage to Princess Ida, which was arranged a long time ago, but she has since spurned all men and founded a university for women. She eventually falls in love with him.
