PRONOUNCIATION has never been my strong point, but I was till taken aback when watching a re-run of the Betfair East Anglian Derby final on Sky Sports News and the winner called Fear Zaff-on-itch.
The hilarity of the "beginner's mind" broadcasts loud and clear when my overly enthusiastic friend, flubbing the pronounciation, wished a "happy new ass" (ano) instead of "Happy New Year" (ano) to armed soldiers in Guatemala City.
Floral wreathes spelling out some of loud-mouthed Goody's best-known catchphrases -- such as "minging" (disgusting) and "East Angular" (her mangled pronounciation of East Anglia, an area of England) -- were also on display.
