Proske, Karl (1794-1861)

German priest and editor. He studied medicine and practised for a time, but was ordained priest in 1826. He became attached in a musical capacity to Regensburg Cathedral. There, and in Italy, he made his great collection of church music entitled Musica Divina, which was published in four volumes bewteen 1853 and 1864.
