Provincetown Players

Group of US actors, producers, and dramatists formed in 1915 in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts; they later moved to New York. Mounting new plays by Eugene O'Neill, Theodore Dreiser, E E Cummings, and others, they opened the door to US experimental theatre.
