Prudent, Émile (Racine Gauthier) (1817–1863)

French pianist and composer. As an orphan he was adopted by a piano tuner. He entered the Paris Conservatory at the age of ten and afterwards had a hard struggle to make a living. Eventually he made his way successfully.
