Pruslin, Stephen (Lawrence) (1940– )

US pianist and librettist. He studied at Princeton until 1963; piano with Eduard Steuermann. He moved to London in 1964 and gave his debut recital at the Purcell Room in 1970. He wrote libretti for Birtwistle's Monodrama (1967) and Punch and Judy (1968). He cofounded Fires of London 1970, premiered the Maxwell Davies piano sonata and collaborated with him on music for The Devils. He made concert appearances with the London Sinfonietta, BBC Symphony Orchestra, and Royal Philharmonic.
