Pteridosperms

Group of fossil plants resembling ferns in their leaves but producing seeds instead of spores. for this reason they were formerly known as seed-ferns. They are commonly found as fossils in the Coal Measures. Medullosa, Paripteris, and Alethopteris are typical genera.
