Puerto Cabello

Port in the state of Carabobo, Venezuela, 40 km/25 mi northwest of Valencia; population (1990) 128,800. It is the country's second most important port (after La Guaira). Puerto Cabello is linked by rail with Valencia, Barquisimeto, and Caracas. There are shipbuilding and dry-dock facilities, corn and cotton mills, sawmills, and meat-packing plants, as well as cigarette factories.
