pull-down menu

In computing, a list of options provided as part of a graphical user interface. The presence of pull-down menus is normally indicated by a row of single words at the top of the screen. When the user points at a word with a mouse, a full menu appears (is pulled down) and the user can then select the required option. Compare with pop-up menu.

In some graphical user interfaces the menus appear from the bottom of the screen and in others they may appear at any point on the screen when a special menu button is pressed on the mouse.
