Punnett square

Graphic technique used in genetics for determining the likely outcome, in statistical terms, of a genetic cross. It resembles a game of noughts and crosses, in which the genotypes of the parental generation gametes are entered first, so that the subsequent combinations can then be calculated. The technique is named after the English geneticist, Reginald Punnett (1875-1967).
