Employee responsible for buying material inputs to a business organization. For example, the purchasing manager for an ice cream manufacturer would be responsible for buying milk, vegetable fats, and flavourings. The purchasing manager is not just looking at the cheapest price. Quality of products or delivery dates may be more important.
