Pyapon

Town lying on the Pyapon River in Irrawaddy division, Myanmar; population (2000 est) 58,500. Rice is grown in the district on reclaimed marshlands of the Irrawaddy delta and shipped to Yangon 72 km/45 mi to the northeast.
