quality control

Steps taken to ensure that products are of a minimum acceptable standard for buyers of the product. In manufacturing, quality control should be achieved through inspection of products at each stage of the manufacturing process. In services, quality control is just as important but quality of service is often more difficult to define and measure.

Quality control can cost money if products are poorly made and end up being rejected. Poor quality also leads to a poor image for a business organization and lower sales.
