Also found in: Wikipedia | 0.03 sec. |
fieldIn physics, region of space in which an object exerts a force on a separate object because of certain properties they both possess. For example, there is a force of attraction between any two objects that have mass when one is within the gravitational field of the other. Other fields of force include electric fields (caused by electric charges) and magnetic fields (caused by circulating electric currents), either of which can involve attractive or repulsive forces. |
