Queen Maud Land

Region of Antarctica claimed by Norway in a 1939 royal decree. It lies between Enderby Land and Coats Land, from 20° west to 45° east. It was reached in 1930 by a Norwegian expedition under Captain Hjalmar Riiser-Larsen and named after Queen Maud of Norway.
