Queen of Golconda, The

Opera by Franz Adolf Berwald (libretto by composer after J B C Vial and E G F de Favieres) composed in 1864 and first performed at Stockholm on 3 April 1968. In the story, Aline, the widowed Queen of Golconda, and Saint Phar meet after years of separation. Revolutionary disturbances delay only temporarily the couple's union.
