Queensberry, John Sholto Douglas, 8th Marquess of Queensberry (1844–1900)

British patron of boxing. In 1867 he gave his name to a new set of boxing rules. Devised by the pioneering British sports administrator John Chambers (1841–1883), the Queensberry Rules, form the basis of today's boxing rules.
