RCA Mark II synthesizer

Pioneer digitally programmable analogue synthesizer developed in 1959 by Harry Olsen and Herbert Belar. It was installed in the joint Columbia-Princeton electronic studio under the direction of US composers Otto Luening and Milton Babbitt, its best-known advocate. It was the first integrated device for pre-programmed synthesis and mixing of electronic and concrete sound materials, employing a punched card control system.
