RFC

Abbreviation for Royal Flying Corps, a forerunner of the Royal Air Force.

RFC

In computing, discussion document on the subject of standards for the Internet. RFCs start as technical proposals lodged with the Internet Architecture Board by computer engineers. The proposals are published on the Internet, where they are subject to general review. After any necessary amendments are made, RFCs become agreed procedures across the network.
