RIBA

Abbreviation for Royal Institute of British Architects, institute whose object is ‘the advancement of Architecture and the promotion of the acquirement of the knowledge of the Arts and Sciences connected therewith’. The RIBA Gold Medal is the world's most prestigious award for architecture.

RIBA (Robot for Interactive Body Assistance), the product of joint research by RIKEN and Tokai Rubber Industries (TRI), is the first of its kind in the world, capable of safely lifting and moving a human patient of up to 61 kg from a bed to a wheelchair and back.
We have developed RIBA because we want to help caregivers when they are required to transfer patients between hospital beds and wheelchairs," the Telegraph quoted Mukai as saying.
