RSA

In computing, name of both an encryption algorithm and the company (RSA Inc) set up to exploit that algorithm in commercial encryption products. First described 1977 by its inventors, Ronald Rivest, Adi Shamir, and Leonard Adelman, and published in Scientific American, the RSA algorithm is used in the free program Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) and in commercial products released by RSA Laboratories.
