Royal Shakespeare Company

British professional theatre company that performs Shakespearean and other plays. It was founded in 1961 from the company at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre (1932, now the Royal Shakespeare Theatre) in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England, and produces plays in Stratford and in London.
