RTF

In computing, file format designed to facilitate the exchange of documents between different word-processing programs. RTF text files make it possible to transfer both the text and its formatting features, such as font styles or paragraph indents, from one program to another. A further advantage is that Microsoft Word files sent as RTF cannot carry macro viruses.
