Radbourn, ‘Old Hoss’ (1854-1897)

US baseball pitcher. A right-hander who primarily pitched for Providence and Boston during his 12-year career (1880-91), he established the major league record for most wins in a season (60) in 1884. he was elected to baseball's Hall of Fame in 1939.

He was born in Rochester, New York. He was nicknamed for his indefatigable willingness to pitch (he pitched in 678 innings in 1884).
