Ragusa (Croatia)

    0.04 sec.

Ragusa

Italian name (to 1918) for the Croatian city of Dubrovnik. Its English name was Arrogosa, from which the word ‘argosy’ is derived, because of the city's fame for its trading fleets while under Turkish rule in the 16th century.
